Buckhead Kitchen
Classic, serene and elegant describe this lovely Buckhead kitchen. The setting is romantic with cabinetry in a soft chiffon color with mocha glazing reflecting the glow of candlelight. The homeowners remodeled their kitchen to reflect the elegance of the rest of the house and allow them to incorporate updated appliances and storage features.
Everything functions perfectly to accommodate the large parties the homeowners host in the home. Dual dishwashers flank the sink for easy cleanup and there is a concealed warming drawer to keep foods hot. The large island was designed to resemble a table with a mahogany top and turned legs; and function as serving space with a bar sink, wine storage and refrigerated drawers. The cooking area is the focal point with it’s arched hood and corbels and the arch is repeated above the window. There are many special features and surprises hidden within the cabinets. The legs beside the professional-style range top conceal pullouts for spices; the blind corner cabinet to the left of the range top conceals a “magic corner” pullout; and the tall pantries contain rollout shelves. Appliances are concealed behind cabinetry panels for an integrated look. A wall of cabinetry incorporates a very special feature—a piece of antique leaded glass for which a custom cabinet was made. It came from the wife’s great-grandmother’s front door and has been incorporated into each one of their homes.
